Memory Saver is a lightweight and useful Chrome extension for users who are searching for ways to reduce Chrome's memory usage. It can save up to 40% of Chrome's memory and up to 40% of Chrome's process memory when the application is not being used.
It is based on the concept that Chrome creates a lot of background tabs when you use it and that tabs that are not currently being used can be discarded. To accomplish this, it scans the current tab and creates a list of all the inactive tabs. From this list, it can discard any tab that does not have active content and that is not playing audio or video.
